Brooks does it Again!

 Greetings,
For the past four months we've been extremely fortunate to be featured on Fox Business' "Strange Inheritance."
In celebration of the national attention, we created "Pascal's Packs," hand-selected Brooks wines combined with a free "American Wine Story" DVD and free shipping.
Now is your chance to enjoy the wines, savings, and the documentary of which the L.A. Times said, "This film may make you want to pull up stakes and follow these winemakers' journeys."
Complementary ground shipping on Pascal's Packs ends on May 31st.  Wine Club member discounts apply.
Shop Now and be part of the Brooks story.
Cheers,
Janie Brooks

Brandborg Rose' of Pinot Noir

Last night we had a meal of grill Portabellos with balsamic, green spices, crumbled blu cheese, zucchini brushed with oil and Turkish spices, and various slaw. I, as the resident meat eater, had chicken thighs slow cooked in Pear and Ginger Chutney.
Pairing such a diverse meal would see to be a match for anyone but we had opened a bottle of the '13 Rose of Pinot Noir by Brandborg Winery the night before for a nightcap so we poured it and were so pleased that we open another bottle. We finished with ripe strawberries and it was the perfect match!
The Rose' has enough complexity that it stand well against the balsamic and spice of the vegetables and mushrooms and it enhances the pear and ginger on the chicken. Wonderful choice!

Carlton Hill for the Weekend

"Spring is nature's way of saying, 'Let's party!'"
Carlton Hill Wine Co
- Robin Williams (1951-2014)
Dear Friends,

I keep thinking that it's just a bad dream: we really haven't lost Robin Williams. Fortunately, as is the way of life, we also have good dreams, like the weather we've been having this winter and spring. We could be experiencing our 20th straight day of rain here in the Pacific Northwest, but instead, we are bathed in beautiful sunshine and there's early bud break in the vineyard. Indeed, everything is making its appearance early this year. Daffodils and tulips have bloomed and faded already. So let the celebration begin. As a starter, we have two good ways to party together this spring. I hope to see you soon.
Saturday, April 25, 2015 "Taste the Place" Wine Tasting

What: More than 25 wine makers in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA (including Carlton Hill and our next-door neighbors) gather to share samples and sell wines to the public. Since many of us small producers don't have tasting rooms, this is a nice way for you to discover new wines from one of the most award-winning AVAs in Oregon.

Where: Anne Amie Vineyards, 6580 NE Mineral Springs Rd, Carlton, OR 97111

When: Saturday, April 25, 2015, 11 - 4 pm

Tickets: $40 per person in advance, $50 at the door. Purchase advance tickets at the Yamhill-Carlton AVA website. (Tickets are limited and have sold out in previous years. We strongly encourage you to buy them before Saturday.)

Sunday, May 24, 2015 Memorial Weekend Barn Tasting

What: It's our semi-annual event in the barn, featuring guests Z'IVO and Copper Belt, along with Andrew Rich Wines. In all, you'll have more than a dozen wines to taste, plus a hearty array of ample nibbles. Take home your wine tasting glass, if you wish, and a souvenir tote bag with your wine purchases.

Where: Carlton Hill Vineyard barn

When: Sunday, May 24, 2015, 12 - 5 pm

Tickets: $20 per person at the door (Carlton Hill Reserve club members free)

For directions, please go to www.carltonhillwines.com. MapQuest, GPS navigators and Google Maps direct people to a portion of Cummins Road that no longer exists.

Best regards,

BIKE FOR WINE!

Did you know that J. Scott Cellars winery is located just two blocks off of the Fern Ridge Bike Path?

Easy ride from east Eugene or start a tour here and end with a glass of wine!  The western portion of the path meanders through a nature preserve of native prairie and wetlands running along Amazon Creek and is only 7.4 miles roundtrip from the winery!

Either ride, all you have to do is exit off off on Nolan St. to 7th, east to Commercial and north to the winery.
