Tour de Auxerrois Saturday, December 8th 2pm-4pm Join us at Carlton Cellars for an intimate special tasting of this little known varietal with offerings from both France and Oregon. We will explore how Auxerrois found its way here to the Willamette Valley and discuss her humble beginnings in Alsace. We will also explore the many different ways this varietal is expressed in our valley alone. Auxerrois (or Pinot Auxerrois) is a white wine grape variety with a perplexing number of synonyms. True Auxerrois, often called Pinot Auxerrois or Auxerrois Blanc, is grown fairly extensively in Alsace and appears in more wines than most may realize. In Cahors, Auxerrois is a synonym for Malbec. Auxerrois Gris is, confusingly, a synonym for Pinot Gris
