Celebrate Oregon Wine Month at Iris!

As we settle into spring, we're excited to join Oregon's 700+ wineries to celebrate Oregon Wine Month this year!  We have new releases, wine specials, live music, tastings around town, and much more in store for this special month. When you visit the tasting room, you'll also see the wild douglas iris (our namesake) blooming on the hillside, bud break, and our beautiful wisteria blooming on the patio.  We hope to see you this month!
Our next Evenings at Iris will be May 5th.  Guitarist John Jarvie will be playing his unique blend of classical and Latin guitar styles from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM.  We’ll also be serving some excellent Sangria made with Iris wine. Join us on Cinco de Mayo for some excellent music!
In celebration of Oregon Wine Month, we’ll be tasting wine around the region on the following dates:
  • Market of Choice, Delta Oaks, May 5th from 4-6 PM
  • Fred Meyer, Santa Clara, May 6th from 3-6 PM
  • Holiday Inn, Springfield’s Gateway Area, May 18thfrom 5:30-7:30 PM
  • Fred Meyer, West 11th, May 20th from 3-6 PM
We’ve got some great wine specials for Oregon Wine Month!  We’re offering three varietals at wholesale pricing during the month of May:
  • 2012 Red ONE
  • 2013 Oregon Pinot Noir
  • 2013 Oregon Pinot Gris – 90 points form Wine Enthusiast
You can take advantage of this special pricing in our tasting room or by ordering through our online store.  Free shipping on 6+ bottles, and additional discounts do not apply.  Order today!
Our Tasting Room is now open 7 days a week from 12 PM - 6 PM!
We’re thrilled to release our 2014 Areté Pinot Noir during Oregon Wine Month.  Iris is built on the concept of Areté, an ancient Greek philosophy representing excellence and the tireless pursuit of one’s full potential, and it’s fitting that we’ve named our best Pinot Noir after this idea.  This varietal will only be available in our tasting room, and only a few cases were produced.  Stop by the tasting room before it’s gone!
Stop by Iris Memorial Day Weekend and escape the crowds this weekend brings to wine country.  If you purchase a case of one of the Oregon Wine Month specials, you’ll be entered into a drawing.  You can purchase one varietal or a mixed case, and we’ll draw a winner each day.  Prizes will be announced on the day event.  We hope to see you for the long weekend!
We’re offering all Mom’s a complimentary flight for Mother’s Day this year.  Stop by the tasting room for a flight of white, rosé, and red Iris wine.  Cheers to all of the great mom’s out there!

Comedians Gone Wild(ish)

Pride Comedy Showcase

June 16th, 7:00pm

In honor of Pride Month (June of every year), Comedians Gone Wild(ish) presents some of the funniest LGBTQ comedians in the Pacific Northwest!
All humans over the age of 18 are welcome to this hysterical night of comedy and fun.
Our emcee is the always colorful and joyous 2017 SLUG Queen Eugenia Slimesworth(aka, Ivy Peterson).
Our four feature acts:
Chris Ettrick is a comedian, hair stylist, singer and photographer. He began his comedy career in 2013, studying at Portland's Brody Theater. In 2016, Chris was a finalist in Helium Comedy Club's Funniest Person in Portland contest. Chris has performed in New York and across Oregon, sharing the marquee with names like Amy Miller, Shane Torres, Derek Sheen, Bri Pruett, Gabe Dinger and Curtis Cook, among others.
Beth Pinkerton was chosen the Funniest Person in Eugene for 2015 by the Eugene Weekly despite the fact that she frequently uses her ascerbic wit to skewer what it means to be a Eugenian.  Three months later, she opened for Jen Kirkman to rave reviews. She has also performed at the Eugene Laff Off, the 10th and 11th Annual NW Women's Comedy Festivals, and the Laugh Your Alz Off benefit for Alzheimer's research.
Jennifer Lanier is a card-carrying actor who was named one of the Funniest Lesbians in America by CURVE Magazine. She has been seen as a funny Homeland Security agent on the TV show, LEVERAGE, a gambling cowboy and dancing granny on stage in Portland, and a midwife/mechanic on screen in "BIG PINK." She travels with a solo show about the funny side of race, sexuality, and gender called NONE OF THE ABOVE.
Whitney Streed performs stand-up comedy all around the Pacific Northwest and has featured for Maria Bamford, Rob Delaney, Jackie Kashian, and other rad folks. Festival appearances include Seattle Sketchfest, All Jane No Dick in Portland, and the Salt Lake City Comedy Carnivale, as well as Portland’s Bridgetown Comedy Festival both as a performer and, since 2012, a producer. Whitney hosts and produces shows all over Portland and can seen playing a feminist and potential home-buyer on three seasons of IFC’s hit show “Portlandia.”
Half of the net proceeds from the show will go to Basic Rights Oregon, whose mission is to ensure that all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer Oregonians experience equality by building a broad and inclusive politically powerful movement, shifting public opinion, and achieving policy victories.

Tickets are: $25

Tickets can be purchased at www.wildishtheater.com
