Barrel Sale
We have just completed our Spring bottling and need to clear out some used barrels to make way for the new barrels we will be bringing in this year.  We have roughly 50 barrels available, and before we sell them to other wineries, we wanted to offer them to you! The barrels available can either be claimed by a wine purchase of $300 (after discount), or be purchased separately at $75/barrel.

Seven of Hearts March Madness
Seven of Hearts will be introducing its first-ever March Madness bracket. How does it work? For every bottle listed on our bracket that you purchase in the month of March, it will serve as a vote to that wine (click image above to see the competing wines). At the end of each weekend in March, wines with the most votes will progress. The last wine standing during the final weekend in March will be available for bottle purchases at 50% OFF from March 27th to March 31st (while supplies last). Keep an eye out for the winning announcement!

Release of the 2014 Harper Voit Antiquum Pinot Noir.

Harper Voit
Hello, Friends!
We are excited to announce the release of the 2014 Harper Voit Antiquum Pinot Noir. If you have had the pleasure of consuming the Antiquum vineyard in the past, then you already know you are in for a nice treat.
Antiquum Farms is located in the South Willamette Valley on a thin variation of bellpine soil. It is upwards of 800 feet in elevation, making it a suitable yet unique site for growing Pinot Noir.
Stephen Hagen, owner and farmer of Antiquum Farms is obsessed with growing the best wines possible. Drew and Stephen have been working together since 2009, and we could not be happier with the results of the fruit that lands on the crush deck. The work that both Stephen and Drew put forth into the vineyard and the wine are clearly reflected in the wine.
The wine is dense in color with an intense fruit forwardness on the nose. On the palate, it reflects the high skin to berry ratio of the berries with a rich, tropical acidity. This wine is very distictive in character.
$65/bottle + shipping

Wine dinner on Thursday, March 9 features wines by Rick De Ferrari & David Polite

"If winter comes, can spring be far behind?"
Percy Bysshe Shelley, Ode to the West Wind

To Our Loyal Customers & Friends,
Winter surely came to our Yamhill Valley this year, breaking records for rainfall and making a competitive showing when it came to snow. Fortunately, longer days and warmer sunshine are soon to be on their way: Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 12
To welcome the return of sunlight, I've teamed up with the good folks at The Barberry restaurant in McMinnville and Rick De Ferrari of De Ferrari Wines for a wine makers' dinner on Thursday, March 9 at 6 pm. Please consider joining us.
Scallops, bacon-braised leeks, lamb ragu, pork tenderloin and creme brulee - all can be yours along with spending the meal getting an earful on wine making from Rick and yours truly. (Email me if you want the menu. I have it.) Each scrumptious plate will be suitably paired with library vintages of Pinot Noir from Carlton Hill Vineyard (2008, 2009 and 2012) and Rose, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from De Ferrari Wines. Order forms will also be available so you can purchase your favorites of the library selections.

March Wine Dinner
$75 all inclusive
Reservations Required

Please call The Barberry to reserve your spot:

That weekend in March will be a fun weekend to be in Yamhill Valley. Carlton restaurants are hosting a weekend-long breakfast fest on March 12 & 13, where you can enjoy breakfast at any time of day. (And if you haven't tried an almond croissant or pecan roll yet from Carlton Bakery, you don't know what you've been missing.) It's also the weekend of the Sip! McMinnville Wine & Food Classic. Consider driving out Thursday for the wine dinner and staying over until Sunday morning to enjoy a full weekend of great food and wine.

Best regards,
David C. Polite
PS: Wine maker Rick De Ferrari is known for making a unique contribution to the Oregon wine industry. Do you know what it is? Email me back with your guess!

MarshAnne Landing Winery Presents Chamber Music Amici

MarshAnne Landing Winery
Presents
Chamber Music Amici
Tango and More

Sunday February 262017 2:00 PM

We hope you can join us for this  exciting afternoon of chamber music featuring Chamber Music Amici one of the Pacific Northwest’s premier chamber ensembles.  Guest artists Lillie Manis and Valerie Nelson (both violinists) will join Amici regulars  violist Jessica Lambert, cellist Steve Pologe, and pianist Victor Steinhardt.

Tango and More

Turina, Piano Trio No. 2 in B Minor

Steinhardt, Tango and Scherzo

Lee, Morango...Almost a Tango

Piazzolla, La Muerte del Angel

Schulhoff, Five Pieces for String Quartet

The program opens with a composition that reveals the influence of French Impressionism, melodic vocabulary, and rhythmic patterns of Turina’s Spanish heritage.  Inspiration from a postcard depicting Argentinian tango dancers led to Steinhardt’s Tango and Scherzo.    Lee’s composition was originally a bar jazz tune, rewritten for the Kronos Quartet, and later reborn again as a bastardized version of the real thing.  Piazzola’s style, nuevo tango, a fusion of traditional tango, classical music and jazz, is shown off in this tribute to an angel who descends to Buenos Aires to help heal the spirits but is killed in a knife fight.  Schulhoff’s passion for dancing led to this Neo-Baroque dance suite inspired by five different styles of dance music.

Advanced reservations only-contact the winery at 541-459-7998
Admission $30 includes appetizers.

A Treat on the Coast

Hello Everyone!

It's been a trying winter out here at Brigadoon and both Matt and Chris have been looking for ways to get off the farm and relax. Matt finally did last weekend as he was pouring wine at the Overleaf lodge and spa in Yachats, Oregon. A complimentary tasting was paired with light snacks from 5-7pm on both Friday and Saturday evening and afterwards Matt was able to kick around the Oregon coast and enjoy the spa life.
Matt's report: My room (all the rooms) had an amazing view of the ocean crashing against the rocks and it was even lit up at night. Dinner was just a short walk down the coast line. Yachats Brewing is top notch with some out of the ordinary beers. The Green Salmon makes a great espresso and a classic cream cheese danish for the morning. Both Patrick (front desk) and Kirk (GM) were great at pointing me towards where I needed to go around town and spots to check out. Oh, and the 2 hot tubs, which are free for all guests, yep they are on the 3rd floor with large windows overlooking the ocean. In one word: AMAZING.
There are just 2 weekends left where saying BRIGADOON will get you 25% OFF BOTH YOUR ROOM RATE AND YOUR SPA SERVICES. February 17th and 18th Chris and Sheree will be out at the overleaf and then will be returning in April for the 14th and 15th. Also, staying both nights isn't necessary as just one night on either weekend will qualify you for the BRIGADOON 25% off.
Thanks,
The Shown Family
